The View Goes After Carly
The women of The View haven't been shy about making it known that they support Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders for President (it's not a surprise). In recent weeks they have made it a goal to attack Carly Fiorina and praise Hillary Clinton, thus constantly comparing the two women. During Hillary Clinton's testimony over Benghazi, they complimented Hillary Clinton for being "strong," despite the fact that many who actually watched the hearing called her disrespectful for constantly laughing over the deaths that occurred in Libya. Then during the MSNBC GOP Primary Debate they made fun of Carly's face calling it demented. They did so despite Hillary's very demented facial expressions recently. Double standard?
Now on The View, Whoopi Goldberg has stated that The View is responsible for her success. Crazy much? Everyone knows that Carly Fiorina gained popularity after her performance during the first "Happy Hour" Primary Debate (which she won). Then she maintained it with her performance during other interviews. But most of her following has loved her from the very beginning. However, Goldberg claiming that Fiorina should be grateful to them for her success isn't even the worst part.
It all started when Donald Trump made comments about Carly Fiorina's face, saying "look at that face" who would vote for "that face?" The View got in on the drama, claiming Donald Trump was sexist for focusing on her face rather than her brain, which they claimed is where he should focus in on. This was during an interview with Trump on the show over the phone. Now isn't is a bit hypocritical that they too are criticizing Carly for her face rather than her brain?
Now, this Friday Carly Fiorina is planned to go on The View as a guest to address the hypocritical women face to face. I wonder what they will have to say when confronted for calling her face "demented" and that it should be made into a "Halloween Mask." I hope she calls them on their hypocrisy. I know she will have no problem showing that she's fit to be President where it counts, her intelligence.
The Richard Nixon Foundation
I had no idea that so close to my home The Richard Nixon Foundation had so many guest speakers each month at the Nixon Library. A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of meeting Newt and Callista Gingrich.
The evening started with Newt Gingrich speaking about his book, Duplicity, and what motivated him to write it. Following his speech, the floor opened to questions from the audience. Then those in attendance were able to get an autograph signing from the couple as well as an opportunity to take photos with the couple. Of course I took advantage of both opportunities.
The only regret I have was not bringing a copy for Callista Gingrich to sign of her book, Christmas in America. After listening to Newt describe the purpose of her book series, which is to raise awareness of American history to young children, I knew what I was going to give my niece for Christmas.
This will not be the last time I visit The Nixon Library in Yorba Linda, CA. Unfortunately I missed Ann Romney's visit, but I will not miss Greg Gutfeld's visit in a few weeks.
If you are ever visiting California, or live here, check out the event list from The Nixon Foundation for yourself. It's definitely worth attending one of their events.
Gifted Hands: The Ben Carson Story
I was excited to see that "Gifted Hands: The Ben Carson Story" is available on Netflix, so of course I watched, and it was definitely worth it. Cuba Gooding Jr. did a great job depicting Dr. Ben Carson and mastered the soft voice that Carson is known for.
The film is a series flash backs as he prepares for the surgery that made him famous, which was when he separated conjoined twins. Before Carson attempted the surgery, no surgeon had ever successfully separated conjoined twins and managed to save both lives.
What I love about this film is not what he managed to do, but the underlying message given to him by his mother. The repeated statement by his mother to him and his brother was, "You can do anything anyone else can do. Only you can do it better." Carson's mom was defiantly a 'no excuses' woman. I guess you can say she was my favorite person/character from the movie.
In the film, Carson's mother didn't learn how to read, yet she strived to make her sons better students. Of course, being a no excuses woman she eventually learned to read. It's remarkable the kind of impact a mother can have on her childrens' lives when she takes this approach to parenting. She could have been someone who continued to live off of welfare considering how she was a single mother, but instead she worked hard and was a homeowner. This is an amazing feat since married couples have a difficult time owning homes with two incomes.
Watching the film made me examine my own life and question whether or not I was actually living up to my potential and doing everything possible to reach my goals. Of course in comparison to Carson's hardworking family, I am not. However, this was a very motivational film.
By watching, I was also able to understand why so many people are in support of him becoming President of the United States despite his lack of political experience. In life he approached many obstacles (like separating conjoined twins) with no experience, but mastered the challenge in the end.
I would definitely suggest everyone watch this film. Below is the trailer, feel free to watch.
November's Book
I am pleased to announce November's book Assault and Flattery: The Truth About the Left and Their War on Women, written by Katie Pavlich. With so much talk from Hillary Clinton and other Liberals about how Republican's are so anti-women, and the supposed "War on Women," I thought it would be interesting to examine the real war on women coming from the Left. I find it so annoying that Liberals actually believe that the only issue women care about is getting free birth control and free abortions (how demeaning).
Pavlich is an Editor for Townhall.com and a Fox News commenter. She's also a young conservative woman, with an interesting view of feminism. As a reporter she has covered White House scandals as well as Constitutional issues. You can read and learn more about this interesting woman on her site www.katiepavlich.com, or follow her on Twitter.
In the video below you can see Pavlich discuss her book while on Fox and Friends and notes that Liberals have always demeaned and downgraded women.
Feel free to join in as we read November's book and follow along on Instagram as I post questions from the book. Then on the first week of December, I'll post a review with questions asking for your thoughts. I hope you'll join along.
Happy reading!
Prayers for U.S. Teachers
Recently Spring Valley High School in South Carolina has received a lot of attention for the video above when their school officer slammed a student to the ground from her desk. As a result there has been an outcry from Liberals that this is evidence that African American students are treated differently than Caucasian students. CNN has been very vocal on the issue and only recently admitted that the student may be responsible for what happened.
Apparently the student was using her phone during the middle of class and was asked several times by her teacher to put the phone away. When she refused, school administrators arrived and asked her again. When she continued to refuse the officer was called as a last resort, and she still refused. That's when this video was filmed of him taking her out of her seat when she refused to leave the classroom as asked. Liberals argue that she should have been allowed to use her phone in class and the school should have ignored her behavior. The way the school and the officer handled the situation was racist in their view.
To diffuse the situation, the officer was fired. This lead to a school protest from students of all races claiming that the officer was not racist, and that the student is at fault for what happened. Recently Raven Symone has been under fire for blaming the student for what happened, and taking a similar stance as the students of the high school. As a result Symone has been called a racist for the comments she made on her show The View (despite the fact that she is African American herself).
I think there's a larger issue here that needs to be addressed, which is contrary from the issue Liberal Media would like you to focus on. Many of the commenter's on Liberal Media have argued that there is a disproportionate number of African American students who are arrested at public schools compared to Caucasian students. However, what they are completely missing is, why are students being arrested at all? Instead of arguing that African American students shouldn't be arrested for their actions, or that there should be an equal number of arrests, the media should be focusing in on why students are disrespecting their teachers. Recently a video was posted by high school students who harassed their teacher.
As can be seen from the video one student raises a desk to his teacher, thus assaulting her. This is a perfect depiction of a classroom gone a muck. She calls for security several times, but no one comes. Why should any teacher have to deal with this behavior?
I recall when I was in high school, that one of my teachers mentioned that at a previous school he taught at, one of his students attacked him and tried to stab him with a pencil. This is crazy. I'm embarrassed to belong to this generation, and saddened that the population only gets worse. This isn't an issue of race, but rather disrespect within our society. Parents need to raise better children. Rather than blame school officials when their children get punished, they should take a long look at themselves in the mirror and wonder why their child was punished in the first place.
Who is really to blame, school officials and school officers, or the parents who raise those students? Let me know in the comments below.
