North Korean Rocket Launch

For the past few weeks news groups have been following the story of North Korea and their proposed rocket launch.  However, despite the concerns from the U.S. Foreign Affairs Committee, and others around the world, the story has gone mostly buried in the news.

North Korea has stated that the launch is for peaceful purposes, but regardless of whether or not this specific launch is, many argue that North Korean scientist are using this launch to expand their knowledge in rockets for their main goal which is to go nuclear.  North Korea has claimed to be a nuclear state, and many experts warn that by 2020, North Korea could have as many as 100 nuclear weapons.

So despite this threat to the U.S. and other foreign countries, why is it that the story has been buried in other meaningless news?  Could it be that ISIS, is the main global concern?  Probably not since reporting on ISIS has been even less popular.  Or perhaps it's because most in the U.S. are focused on the upcoming Presidential Election.  If so, it may be because all hope is lost with the current administration when it comes to rebuilding and strengthening our foreign policy.

When a society becomes hopeless they'd rather look the other way, than acknowledge certain realties.  Either way, this is a story that most Americans should begin to follow.

February's Book

I debated for awhile on whether or not I wanted to include this book in February or not since the movie has already come out, but decided to go ahead anyway.  Personally I do not like to watch movies before reading the book since I lose all motivation.  So, I'm going to wait.  I think reading it first will be beneficial due to the amount of detail.

What inspired me most about reading this book was meeting Kris "Tanto" Paranto at the Southern Division Conference for the Republican Women Federated.  Hearing him tell his story was wonderful.  Everyone listening was glued to every word.  It's amazing what ordeals our soldiers have to go through. We should all appreciate the fact that they are willing to put their lives on the line for our freedom.  Then, meeting him and talking with him in person, you could quickly see what a great guy this man was.

For those unfamiliar with the story of 13 Hours, it's based on the true account of the brave men who fought back in the battle of Benghazi.  "Tanto" is one of the soldiers who lived to tell the story about what happened that memorable day, and of how Hillary Clinton abandoned her men.

13 Hours was written by author/writer Mitchell Zuckoff who was an investigative reporter for The Boston Globe and is now a Professor at Boston University.  Since Zuckoff wrote the book, he and the soldiers mentioned have faced some criticism from Hillary's campaign team, mainly because the true account does not depict her in a good light.

Without going into too much detail, there is no way anyone would regret reading this story of heroism.  As you read a long please feel free to comment in the comment section below and share your thoughts.  Posts and updates will be uploaded onto my instagram account @the.girl.in.red .  For now enjoy the video below.
