I have been rooting for Rubio for awhile. He seemed like someone who actually walked the walk, but what a disappointment. He has been in my top 2 for candidates for awhile, and I even had him as my #ManCrushMonday, but I cannot ignore his most recent action.
He has argued several times that the government over spends its money, or rather it spends well beyond its means. Friday an important $1.1 trillion government spending bill, that's been highly discussed for months, was up for vote. Leading up to the vote, Rubio stated, "I strongly oppose this bill because it keeps spending money that we don't have, grows our debt, and concedes far too many of President Obama's and liberal Democrats' big government spending priorities." The bill doubles the number of H2B visas for refugees, and gives funding to Planned Parenthood among other things.
But what did he do Friday? He didn't participate in the vote that's for sure. He chose instead to continue on with his campaign, making him the only Presidential Candidate in Senate to skip the vote. On the other hand, Ted Cruz was there.
The two have been feuding recently over their voting records relating to immigration and amnesty. When it comes to walking the walk, it's apparent that Cruz can walk the walk rather than just talk the talk. Rubio definitely disappointed the Republican Party.
